Joe Heikman (pastor at Wildwood Church in Saskatoon, SK) sets Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 against the evil that is done in the world.  Sometimes by accident, often by design, the evil we do is often hidden in what we justify as good; that pain/mortality are inevitable, and that its presence actually creates space for our imperfections within the wider goodness of the universe.
