Choosing whether to 'be sent' - "The Great Commission"

Anne Wambugo - “Choosing whether to 'be sent' - "The Great Commission"”
TOPIC
Anne Wambugo, an ordained minister and professor from Kenya, spoke on Matthew 28:19 (“The Great Commission”) and Jesus’ quoting of Isaiah. She brought together the themes of our being sent out into the world to tell people about Jesus, and our being asked to tend to the sick, the broken-hearted, the captives. Professor Wambugo used three themes: travel, share, speak. We are encouraged to travel the road less travelled (e.g., meeting Samaritans, Peter and Cornelius);to share by being with others, teaching them by the way we live; and to speak (confess our faith in the authority of Christ). She concluded by telling of a man who led a communion service and then asked if anyone had been left out. Suddenly he could see in his mind thousands and thousands of people who had been left out.
