Jonas Cornelsen - “The Foolishness of the Cross”

Sermon Recording: Download

TOPIC

Jonas Cornelsen (CMU grad and valedictorian) returned to speak about the great mystery of why God sent Christ to be crucified for us. The wisdom of the world eloquently promotes status and self-improvement. Competition for divine knowledge in Corinth drew the attention of Paul in his first letter to them because they pursued climbing the church hierarchy at the expense of their fellow believers. Even atheist philosophers like Slavoj Žižek think that as Christians we have sold ourselves short on celebrating the apparently foolish logic in such an amazing sacrifice and powerful resurrection!
